The conference «Responsibility of Lukashenka’s Regime for Crimes Against Humanity and Migrant Crisis: Prospects for International Justice» will start on June 12th in Vilnius and will bring together prominent political figures, human rights activists, academics and lawyers from various countries. The event is organized together with the Ministry of Justice of Republic of Lithuania. Patrons of the event are Ms. Ingrida Šimonytė, Prime Minister of Lithuania and Ms. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, National Leader of Belarus, Head of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus.
Human rights activists, delegates from diverse international organizations, and esteemed political figures will address matters pertaining to crimes against humanity in Belarus, the persistent acts of repression, and potential avenues for international justice
The main topics that will be addressed at the conference are:
- Policy of repressions of the Lukashenka’s regime
- Which crimes against humanity can be established in actions of the Lukashenka’s regime
- What is the most appropriate option for justice
- Irregular entries to Lithuania and role of government of Belarus in it.
The event will feature prominent figures who will share their insights and expertise during the opening speeches, setting the tone for a thought-provoking and impactful conference.
Distinguished speakers are:
- Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya – National Leader of Belarus.
- Anais Marin – UN Special Reporter on situations with human rights in Belarus.
Panel discussions will involve representatives from international organizations such as the U.N., OSCE, professors from various universities, and experts in the field of international criminal law.
The conference will be broadcasted online in Lithuanian and English languages and will be accessible to a wider audience.
