aw and Democracy Center (Justice Hub) is a public non-profit organization founded in July 2021

The idea of the Center has appeared in August 2020 under the roof of the EHU Center for Constitutionalism and Human Rights (CCHR) as a part of the Project “Lawyers against impunity” which aims at conducting educational arrangements promoting the application of international human rights standards fighting violations of jus cogens norms.

In March 2021, The European Parliament has invited the representatives of the EHU while discussing issues on Belarus and expressed its support to initiatives targeting impunity. Followed by a series of webinars and numerous consultations with the participation of international experts, national lawyers of different jurisdictions, and other groups eager to learn and to practice universal jurisdiction principle and interstate mechanisms, the Center was registered and started its work.
