On November 20, the Head of the Law and Democracy Center (Justice Hub), Dainius Žalimas, took part in the International Seminar on Belarus Constitutional Reform held in Vienna, Austria. The seminar was organized by the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs. Leading international experts in the field of constitutional law discussed the ways forward towards a new democratic Constitution of Belarus. The draft of the new constitution prepared by the Belarusian civil society reflects the latest progressive developments in constitutionalism and national constitutional identity and incorporates the European human rights catalog. The seminar provided a forum for a collective discussion of essential drafting issues and further recommendations.
