Courts in Belarus use the national Criminal Code as an instrument of systematic and widespread repression, including as an instrument of arbitrary imprisonment for the lawful exercise of rights and freedoms, which is facilitated by undemocratic criminal law norms, providing for the responsibility for crimes against the state and the system of government.
