Justice Hub’s Year in Review: Advocating for Justice in Belarus

As we reflect on 2023, Justice Hub is grateful for your ongoing support. Here’s a brief overview of our impactful work:

  • Uncovering Repressions in Belarus:
    • On February 13th, Justice Hub exposed a database of judges involved in repressions in Belarus.
    • Experts highlighted key areas for reform: the legislative framework and law enforcement practices.
  • Report Release: “Right to a Fair Trial in Belarus”:
    • Our report analyzed Belarusian court decisions post the 2020 elections.
    • Identified judges responsible for politically motivated decisions and assessed crimes against humanity.
  • International Conference in Vilnius:
    • On June 12th, our conference discussed Lukashenka’s regime, crimes against humanity, and the migrant crisis.
    • Supported by Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė and Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the event explored justice prospects.
    • On December 16-18th, co organize conference “Human Right Defenders for Peace and Justice”
  • Legal Analysis on Human Rights Violations:
    • Experts prepared a detailed legal analysis covering human rights violations from May 2020 to May 2023.
    • Concluded that Lukashenka and Belarusian authorities committed crimes against humanity.
