Justice Hub Launches Database Documenting Political and Legal Responses to Human Rights Violations in Belarus

The Law and Democracy Center (Justice Hub)  is proud to announce the launch of its comprehensive database documenting political and legal responses to human rights violations in Belarus.

This resource aims to support international and national efforts for accountability of the Lukashenka regime and justice by providing detailed records of grave human rights abuses and the corresponding actions taken by various bodies at the international, regional, and national levels, all in one place.

After four years of the fraudulent presidential election in Belarus, there are numerous documents confirming grave human rights violations by the Lukashenka regime. These documents indicate and analyze various ways of holding the regime accountable. The Justice Hub seeks to follow and gather these crucial documents within this database, ensuring that they are accessible for continued advocacy and legal action.

The database, which will be constantly reviewed and updated, includes resolutions and reports from the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the European Union, and other international organizations. It covers issues such as arbitrary detention, political repression, electoral fraud, and the persecution of independent media and civil society. Additionally, it features reports from human rights defenders on crimes against humanity and mechanisms for accountability for human rights violations in Belarus.

“The database serves as an essential resource for those seeking to hold perpetrators of human rights violations in Belarus accountable and to support the victims in their pursuit of justice. It is a step forward in our commitment to documenting and addressing these violations comprehensively,” said Airė Keturakienė, Acting Head of the Law and Democracy Center.
